So I read this book today in preparation for some of the podcast work that my friend Alex and I will be doing. The both of us come from the Cleveland area and love comics so we felt like a good place to start would be with Harvey Pekar, a writer who is familiar to Clevelanders AND comic fans. I don’t want to say too much about this particular book (seeing as how that will be part of what we talk about) but for any person who is from the “mistake by the lake” you will appreciate this book. It is half history of the city of Cleveland and half autobiography of Harvey Pekar. This is one of Pekar’s last works and I am so glad it was put out because it gives us Clevelanders  another  reason to be proud of where we come from- much more to say about this but wanted to share a little love (read this fucking book)
